Zanempumelelo Daycare Centre receives support from Ashraful Uloom

The Zanempumelelo Daycare Centre in Lenasia opens its doors each day to 50 children, seven of whom are babies. Caring for and financially maintaining these children is by no means an easy feat. There are various essential supplies to consider, including food and blankets.

The Ashraful Uloom team were alerted to the urgent requirements of the centre after they were contacted by one of their employees. The team paid a visit to the daycare on 20 March 2018, in order to assess the conditions.

This altruistic NGO returned soon afterwards bringing with them a microwave, groceries, blankets and a waterproof fold-up mattress. The centre’s director and five staff members were extremely appreciative of their new provisions.

The director of the Zanempumelelo Daycare Centre, Mr Andries Sithole, uses his 2-bedroom RDP house to run the establishment. While these conditions are not ideal, he hopes to extend his home to accommodate the growing number of children he takes care of.

Mr Sithole’s kindness, paired with the generosity of Ashraful Uloom, has ensured that these children will have a roof over their heads, cosy blankets to keep them warm through the upcoming winter months and food to fill their bellies.
